I am a New York state licensed clinical social worker with a private office located in downtown Ithaca. My experience, specialties and training focus on therapeutic work with individuals who are:

  • experiencing disruptive anxiety or excessive sadness

  • having a difficult postpartum experience

  • struggling with past or present trauma (including sexual abuse, birth trauma, domestic violence, survival of war & natural disasters)

  • overwhelmed by a transition, break up, identity search

  • having difficulties in intimate relationships (partnerships/families)

  • craving emotional support regarding chronic illness / feelings of physical dis-ease

  • feeling disempowered in their lives

My approach is warm, honest and tends to be humanistic and relational in nature. I draw from cognitive behavioral techniques, mindfulness-based body awareness techniques as well as a host of other practices and philosophies when relevant. At times, my style can be creative and include humor when offering a client a different perspective. It is the positive engagement and momentum that I hope to facilitate, helping to free what feels "stuck" on a trajectory that reveals itself as therapy begins to work.
